At the Visa Office

Marriage Certificate

After 93 days of limbo Bill’s letter of offer has arrived and we are on our way to residing in Incredible India.
We made an online application for our visas and arrived here early to have the papers processed. Our first hiccup is that we arrived without our marriage certificate: every accompanying spouse has to prove they are legally married. I don’t know how that works out for unmarried couples wanting to reside in India. Conveniently, the Visa Office in Melbourne has the Internet so you can log into your email account and collect information you require. There are two digital photo booths incase you left your photos behind and one smiling indian gentleman who quietly asks whether you would like your photo taken, “Same price as booth, Sir” Ah, you’ve got to love India’s sense of free enterprise.
